Alejandro C. Lalama Freire, 19'

He is a 21 years old student at Gustavus Adolphus College, originally from Riobamba, Ecuador. He considers himself as a "global person", someone who can get used to changes easily, with dreams and hopes, but with clear objectives. When he was in middle school, Alejandro knew that he wanted to study in the United States. Now as a young adult, he wants to graduate from Gustavus with a double major on International Management, and Communication studies majors with minor on Political science. He is entrepreneur since with the only at the age of 11 he created his first own distribution business in Ecuador.

Furthermore, when he concludes his college education, his goal is to go back to Ecuador to work and promote a sustainable development with freedom and solidarity by creating jobs, and working with the community. He believes that private enterprises that work side by side with the community are business that are born to succeed. Since he comes from a family of entrepreneurs, he got the ability to create new thing to help others. He is a convinced young man that believes that the best way of helping people is creating sources of work. His grandfather was known in the Ecuadorian business environment as "golden heart", which means to be honest and generous. He wants to follow his role model because he believed in education and free enterprise.

He believes that honesty is a gift that God or that superior strength in which we believe gave to the human being to be free from selfishness. Finally, he wants to share with you a phrase from the Junior Chamber International (JCI), with which I identify:

"Faith in God gives a sense and a purpose to life.
Brotherhood transcends the sovereignty of nations.
Economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise.

Government should be of laws rather than of men.
Earth's great treasure lies in human personality.
And, service to humanity is the best work of life."
